TEACHER of the DRUM

Skye Lannon is a professional drummer and teacher in Gerstle Park, San Rafael.

Skye started playing drums at age 6. By age 10, he had acquired a cymbal endorsement and was gigging regularly with various rock and jazz bands. His band was awarded the Bay Area Creative Youth Foundation Presidential Merit Award (the highest honor) for Song Composition in 2021. In 2023, his album “Vanishing” by his band Nyte Skye was released on Sonic Ritual Records, and he toured the West Coast several times. His drum playing is featured in an increasing number of albums spanning modern rock, metal, indie rock, country and funk. His drum work can also be heard on many tracks in the YouTube audio library, some of which have been used in millions of videos, reels, and shorts. To hear some of his music on Spotify, click here.

Now he is finishing his last year of high school at San Rafael High School, and is busy teaching, playing gigs, recording and producing.

Skye is currently accepting students of all levels, age 7 and up. His rate is $40/half hour, $60/hour. He teaches from his soundproof studio at home in Gerstle Park, where he has a two drum kits set up facing each other, allowing for a really fun way to learn quickly and effortlessly.

Skye is also available for session recording and can add drums to any song. He is very comfortable playing to a click track and can provide a full, professional drum track for any style of music, recorded in a professional studio.
